About Piet De Jager

Originally from South Africa, Piet’s passion for agriculture stems from growing up and eventually managing the family’s fifth generation beef and sheep property and growing various summer crops. After finishing his military service, Piet was involved in importing the first group of Drought Master Cattle to South Africa from Australia. Since visiting the sunburnt country on a work trip, Piet fell in love with the land, particularly the outback and regional Australia.

Following a family tragedy, Piet and family made the move from South Africa. Over a number of years, he worked as a stock agent in both Queensland and South Australia developing his knowledge of the beef, sheep and lamb industries further. A career highlight has been coordinating to source spring lambs for one of Australia’s major supermarkets when living in South Australia. More recently he worked on the Paddock to Plate campaign as a meat wholesaler.

Piet is passionate about the outdoors and is often touring with his wife of 27 years and frequents Birdsville, Uluru and anywhere with little phone service much to the worry his two adult daughters!

Piet is excited to be joining the team as Territory Manager for Southern QLD  and bringing his wealth of agricultural experience with him.
