I enjoy working with farmers to help them achieve the best results for their investment in supplements with excellent outcomes for their livestock.
35 years managing stud and commercial beef cattle for family businesses and corporate companies. During this time I successfully bred prepared and exhibited stud cattle at Sydney , Canberra and Melbourne Royals resulting in numerous Championships in Murray Grey , Charolais , Angus , Red Angus and Gelbvieh breeds.
I have been involved in exporting live cattle and genetics (semen and embryos) to Cuba, China, New Zealand and Canada. I have also imported semen and embryos from USA , Canada and New Zealand. As a judge I have judged at every Royal Show in Australia as well as Internationally at New Zealand Royal twice and USA and Canada. I have also judged at the Beef expo in Rockhampton.
I competed in many steer and carcase competitions winning 93 championships. My sons want me to keep going and try to win 100. I do a lot of assessing of cattle and was asked to assess the steers at the recent Farm World steer trial. I have also selected 4 champion steers for the Hereford Society to try to win the Borthwick trophy at Melbourne Royal Show.
Karraba Park Australian Stock Horse Stud. I now breed Australian Stock Horses on a small property nestled into the foothills of the Mount Baw Baw Ranges. We are currently standing 2 stallions at stud and we breed 5-6 foals of our own each year. We sell those foals to homes that utilise our genetics to Campdraft, polocrosse and pony club as well as show and challenge horses.
I am an open campdraft judge and a National Judging Assessor for the Stock Horse Society. I have judged horses of all breeds at every Royal in Australia as well as State Championships and State campdraft championships.
I spent 6 years managing stockfeed companies and 2 years teaching Diploma of Agriculture and Equine studies.
I really enjoy my job as Territory Manager for Performance Feeds as it allows me to meet and interact with a broad number of farmers from one end of Gippsland to the other. Gippsland is such a diverse area extending from Melbourne east to the NSW border and from Bass Straight to the Snowy Mountains. I look after Beef cattle both stud and commercial in intensive to larger production scales. Gippsland is known for its dairy , beef and Merino sheep depending on your area.
I am working with a number of stores to promote the sale of our bagged products and have made myself available to attend and speak on the benefits of our products. I also attend the East Gippsland Field days to grow the business in the East. Farm World is the biggest promotion in the West Gippsland area.
Drop the Performance Feeds team a message and we will be back in touch.
